| For the Nutritional Support of Dogs with Serious illnesses such as Cancer. Cancer is a condition associated with the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells within the body. These cells may form masses?or tumours?that can create a variety of painful and serious problems that may, in many cases, lead to death. Hills Prescription Diet Canine n/d was uniquely formulated by veterinarians and researchers for the management of dogs with Serious illness and is the only food clinically proven to improve the quality of life for dogs with cancer. Indications: - Nutritional support in serious illness, such as cancer and cancer therapy. Not recommended for: - Cats. - Puppies. - Pregnant or lactating bitches. - Dogs with hyperlipidaemia or pancreatitis, or with a history of, or at risk of, pancreatitis. - Dogs where the primary objective is to avoid fluid retention, or prevent the accumulation of nitrogenous by-products, phosphorus or sodium. Additional information: - IMPORTANT: Canine n/d has a high fat and energy content; therefore it is recommended that the full feeding amount is introduced gradually (i.e. over 4?5 days) to minimise the possibility of a temporary gastrointestinal upset. - Clinically proven8 to improve the quality of life of dogs with cancer undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy. - Canine n/d contains sufficient vitamin E to ensure adequate plasma levels, but is deliberately not supplemented with high levels of biological antioxidants to combat free radicals, because this would interfere with chemotherapy and radiotherapy which act by producing free radicals to destroy tumors. |
